2-2 Condo in Pointe North

2-2 Condo in Pointe North
A sneak peek before everyone else!
Historically and Architecturally Significant San Antonio Vintage Homes
Greetings!
8611 datapoint Dr. #58I am thoroughly amazed by how awesome this condo is... The current and previous owner went WAY beyond the call of duty in updating this really sweet condo in North Pointe near the Med Center. Laminate flooring, expensive lighting, really neato bathroom and kitchen fixtures (check the photos), and on and on...

As usual, since i appreciate my subscribers, I roll my new listings past you before I put it on MLS or put up the sign. Maybe you know someone who will working or studying at UT Health Science Center or in the Med Center, who would want to take a peek at this shwank pad.

I hope you enjoy the photos and Taggart & Erin's fond memories. Please feel free to forward this on to someone who might want to hear about the coolest condo in the area...

Some Wonderful Memories

Family Room Family Room
Living Room and Balcony

The current owners, Erin and Taggart, love their home, but are moving to Houston. I always ask my clients for their favorite memories, but I wasn't prepared for such a great list!

  • It's quick launch to UH/Methodist Hospital, Downtown, Fiesta Texas, Woodlawn Lake, Ingram Park Mall, La Cantera Mall, Brackenridge Park, San Antonio Zoo, Airport, Hill Country (Wimberley/Canyon Lake), and HemisFair Park/Alamo
  • Really love having Sushi Zushi with in a two-minute drive. The food is always fresh and consistently delicious. Service is wonderful and it is a family friendly place that doesn't break the bank. Rainbow roll with a side of unagi is a favorite.
  • Lorenzos is literally right down the street and is a wonderful little Italian spot. They have a short wine list with a few Texas wines which is always fun. Its not pricey, or flashy, but just a comfortable little establishment that delivers big on taste and hearty Italian flavors. Our waiter, Sy always takes care of us and treats us like family. Baked ziti, Garlic pasta and homemade lasagna are favorites.
  • Datapoint is a great spot to access the rest of San Antonio. Set just far enough of I-10 not to feel like its in your back yard, yet you can be on it inside of a few minutes. From our street you can be in downtown in ten minutes, the zoo in 15 minutes, or La Cantera Mall in 15 minutes. You also have very close access to the University Hospital and Methodist Hospitals, which are right down the street.
  • Proximity to work/school at University Hospital and the medical school attached to it. By bike, I make it there in 10 minutes. Being so close makes it easy to come home for lunch during the day or be home in minutes to begin relaxing after a long day in the hospital. Close to several great restaurants, a movie theater, a bookstore, and a couple of great dive bars keeps every day or night active with different spots to visit, all within a short drive.
  • The University of Texas Health Science Center at San Antonio medical/dental school is just 1.5 miles down the road. It is great to have such close access that I can easily walk or ride a bike. There is a park at the school complete with a 5 mile running track! Our condo is 15 minutes from Brackenridge Park and San Antonio Zoo. There is even a train that runs through the park for the kids. OP Schnabel Park is 15 minutes south west of our location. This is a great place for biking and hiking.
  • Walking with my son down to a coffee spot on the weekend. It a nice ten minute or so stroll down the road on Datapoint with sidewalks that make it kid friendly.
  • Having friends come to stay in San Antonio with us. Taking them out and showing them all San Antonio has to offer in downtown and all around. People are always amazed (especially our friends from Houston) at how close we are to everything in town.
  • Big clubhouse with pool/spa that is great for parties. Celebrated our son's first birthday there with about 30 friends and family. We had a huge BBQ and lots of fun.
  • Lounging around in the big living room on Sundays watching football. The tall ceilings make the room feel huge and it makes for a great space to watch the big game.
  • Taking walks through the property along the paths that weave in and out of the buildings. There are grass "nooks" that are scattered along the way where my son and I would play.
  • Over the winter, we have a nice warm fire to curl up to in the living room. It's a wood burning fireplace so it has the authentic feel that you only get with a wood fire.
  • Drinking wine on the back porch together. Over a nice red, we would relax on the porch, which faces a grotto area and is fairly private.
  • Cooking dinners together in the kitchen is always a favorite time. The open kitchen allows for everyone to be involved in both the cooking and the conversation.
  • After we had moved in and settled a bit, we invited our parents and siblings to all come and enjoy a dinner together. It was the first time we "hosted" the family in our own home and was very special.
  • We got to know our neighbors beneath us very well. Dave, who was a dental student, and his father Dave Sr. became trusted friends.
  • Our son was born while we lived in this condo. I remember the first day we brought him home. We had made one room into his nursery and loved it as he grew and discovered his environment.
  • During the "ice storm" that hit San Antonio a few years back, we made a nice fire and barricaded ourselves in the house for the day. Since school and work were all cancelled we had all day to relax and play.
  • Sitting out on the porch in the fantastic cool weather before that Texas heat sets in for the summer. The trees are green and the grotto behind the house is alive and vibrant.
  • Swimming in the pool! We began to teach our son how to swim there and spent many afternoons in the clear blue water as a family. We had some BBQ's out there and spent time with neighbors and friends alike.
  • Fall brings with it the football season. On Sundays we would set up for the big games with lots of homemade hotwings and cold drinks. Our friends would come over and we would spend the afternoon cheering, or pouting.
