Alamo Heights Schools 3 Bed 1 Bath Home
Wild Bird Sanctuary - $190,000 - Pre-MLS
Joe,

As usual, I'm sharing this home with you before I put the For Sale sign up or put it on MLS.

I thought Stephen was pulling my leg when he told me his yard was designed as a wild migratory and local bird refuge. But then the first two birds I saw were a cardinal and a blue bird. He went on to explain how the previous owner spent over $8,000 on birdscaping and foliage designed to give shelter and sustenance to wild birds year round.

The home 168 Chevy Chase [Map] itself has a wonderful front porch area that flows into the entry room and living room. The front yard is somewhat secluded. I envision bar-b-qing out front with up to 12 people sitting across the front steps. Of course, the back yard patio is a great entertaining spot, too...

Please forward this on if you know anyone who might be holding out for a wild bird sanctuary in the Alamo Heights School District. They can give us a holler at 733-1928 for a showing.

For more information on birdscaping, visit the Urban Birdscape Blog or you can read the musings of an Austin apartment dweller who lives vicariously through the birds outside her window at Austin duckpolice.org. And The Wild Bird Center in Denton has tons of useful consumer information. Texas Parks and Wildlife also has plenty on what you can do to help local and migratory wild birds. SouthTexas Birds.com.

Take care,
